June 4th, 2010 § 2

Because, you know, literacy is already so lavishly funded by the state and burdensome upon the tax payers, the Louisiana Book Festival has been canceled. Budget cuts for cancellation of Louisiana Book Festival

Don’t worry, though. I’m sure Tiger Stadium will receive a fresh coat of paint, and the Hornets will get a well-equiped gym.

I hate to hear this, but I’m sure glad the local high school statium in Lake Charles is getting state funds to the tune of ten grand for lights.

When Governor Jindal, pushed through the, ahem, gold-standard ethics reform, it was pointed out by those in the business of relocating companies, that Louisiana did not even show up on the radar for many companies because it is considered to be a backwards state. This won’t help change that point of view.

On small step backwards for the governor, one giant leap even farther backwards for the state of Louisiana.
